Nexpo writes & produces investigative, cinematic documentaries exploring internet mysteries and digital true crime. 

I worked on this project for Nexpo investigating Egon Cholakian — a strange, seemingly AI-generated 'climate scientist' on YouTube who many saw as proof of the Dead Internet Theory. We couldn't believe what we found. 

I researched & wrote some of the stories included in this episode of Nexpo's legendary 'Darkest Lost Media' series. The series investigates media unavailable to the public due to its harmful or disturbing content.

Some of the cases I worked on included lost footage of Mexia Supermarket and the Timothy Treadwell tapes. The Treadwell case in particular was my favourite (for what it's worth, I think the audio of the bear attack on YouTube is real. Nexpo disagrees.)

I researched this documentary on the SOS Incident in Japan, 1989 — a mysterious missing persons case that had taken the Japanese internet by storm. Working on this video was fascinating (if challenging) because it required me to access and translate a bunch of sources from the original Japanese, including news footage, 2chan threads, and newspapers.

I recently discovered someone made a video game inspired by this project and the events it depicts. The demo is here.

I helped to research and write this documentary on Smartschoolboy9, which, alongside Nick Crowley's video, broke the internet in the latter half of 2024. We were among the first to discover & investigate these disturbing Instagram accounts, leading to many of them getting banned, and calling into question Instagram's moderation policies. 

Scary Interesting covers true crime, disasters and survival stories, including plane crashes, shipwrecks and failed expeditions. Basically anything scary and/or interesting!

For this video I researched 3 stories that happened atop Pobeda Peak — a lesser-known but deadly mountain in Kyrgyzstan. The stories ask questions about survival amidst both the elements and our fellow humans — including what constitutes the right thing to do when faced with life or death situations at the top of the world. 

I researched and wrote this video on Canadian pilot Marten Hartwell and David Pisurayak Kootook, the teenage Inuk boy who saved his life. Marten crashed his passenger plane into a mountain on a cold November night in 1972 — and what happened next was a matter of survival by any means necessary. 

Izzzyzzz makes thoughtful and reflective video essays on internet trends and discourse, nostalgia, fandom, cosy games, weird online conspiracy theories and anything else bizarre or quirky online. 

I worked on this video for Izzy about biohazard supermarkets, and how they went from niche news reports in the 1990s to contemporary crushes and cosplay outfits especially among queer teens.

This was a really fun way to build on my earlier interest in Mexia from DLM3 in a totally different context.  

Izzy allowed me to fully go rogue with this insane idea that I pitched to them after being unable to escape it on my FYP. Did Peppa Pig's mother, Mummy Pig, get pregnant as a political stunt to get birth rates up across the UK? Probably not, but it was much weirder than we anticipated...

I researched this video on A Million Lives festival disaster — the latest in a string of viral events that failed due to mismarketing and poor planning. Think Fyre Festival, DashCon, and 'Willy's Chocolate Experience' but for the BookTok community.
